Hoxton Story – STUDIO EDITION

This book is an edited compilation of interviews conducted by Lisa Goldman Artist Director of The Red Room and her team over a period of nine months with Hoxton residents on ideas of heritage, community and regeneration. Published on the occasion of the site-specific production of Hoxton Story in London the book also presents Asemota’s stunning portfolio of documentary photographic portraits of the local Hoxton area and the residents interviewed for the project.

EotLA offers this special studio edition of “Hoxton Story” accompanied by a signed print of Curtain, one of the images in the publication.

ens memoralis – Testimony

“ens memoralis: Testimony” is an artists’ book by Leo Asemota on his extraordinary performance at the National Portrait Gallery in London on June 26, 2008. Published in an edition of ten unique copies, the book is a considered and concise biography on the production and is presented in accordion pleated pages – unfolds to a length of 15.5 feet – in a hard back cover housed in a black clothbound hardcover slipcase.

Each edition features Asemota’s handwriting in pigment ink, drawings in lead pencil which include the seven Marshallings in the performance, drawings in orhue (kaolin) and coal*, a post-it note, a leaf out of a book of collected poems by Rudyard Kipling, photocopies, post-card, a piece of ribbon, a unique Polaroid SX-70 Blend colour photograph, newsprint, production handout on letter headed paper and archival colour photographs; affixed to the spine of the slipcase is the Stabilo eraser tipped HB Blacklead pencil with which the drawings were made.

*Pages contain orhue (kaolin) and coal sand particles

Epilogue

A Kilimanjaro publication in association with Leo Asemota & EotLA produced to commemorate their collaboration during Zoo Art Fair, 2007.

This now sought-after double-sided print features on the obverse the work “Epilogue” and on the reverse, “Photographer Unknown”, a photograph from Asemota’s private collection that is influential in his reasoning on his artistic practice.

CULT BOOK OF STAMPS

The Fount ™ Enterprise issued a c ommemorative Stamp collection on the occasion of the exhibition LEO ASEMOTA | THE CURE: COMPLETE WORKS at The Fount™ Gallery in London in 2004.

the book contains five stamps printed by Royal Mail featuring characters in the film “Cult”; the fifth stamp bears an evocation of its central character, The Cure played by Asemota.
